Justice is Far
We all have an internal longing for fairness and justice, it is a built-in feature from our Heavenly
Father. The distressing thing is that actual justice seems to be out of our reach, and too often
life is far from fair. How do we handle this, as Christians? We take our cues from the Scriptures.
They tell us the “why”. Justice and fairness are far from us because we are sinful, and we live in
a now-sinful world. Our hope for justice moves from the here and now to the final destination.
God will bring perfect justice as the perfect Judge. He alone has the power to correct evil and
condemn sin in a satisfactory way. In Isaiah 59, we read about how far Israel was from any
form of justice. They couldn’t even achieve human justice because of their sin. We are still like
Israel; our only hope comes in the form of Jesus Christ. He begins the restoration of true justice
and righteousness in our lives. By following God’s morality, we will achieve justice as best as
can be found on earth, as we await our final and perfect Judge.
