Sept 11 — John the Baptist

As we begin the Gospel of Matthew, we meet John the Baptist, the prophetic forerunner who prepared the way for Jesus Christ. His ministry called people to repentance and pointed them toward the Messiah. We also see Jesus’ baptism and the beginning of His public ministry.
