Mary is second only to Jesus in the Christmas story—yet many Protestants overlook her in reaction to excessive veneration. No, she isn’t deity and we don’t worship her, but she is a vital part of God’s redemption story. So why did God choose Mary to carry His Son?
Mary didn’t just witness the miracle of Christmas—she lived it. She carried Jesus, birthed Him, nurtured Him, followed Him as Lord, stood at the foot of the Cross, rejoiced at the Resurrection, and was filled with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. She was an incredible woman and a powerful leader in the early church.
What can we learn from her life? How can we, like Mary, move beyond a one-time new birth and step into a daily supernatural walk with God? Let’s dive in.
